Yes — WordPop is completely free to download and use. There are no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, and no ads.

Yes. All 400+ words and 20 decks are built into the app. You can study flashcards and take quizzes with no internet connection.

The auto-translation feature requires iOS 18+ and may need to download a language pack the first time — after that it works offline too.

WordPop uses Apple's on-device Translation framework (requires iOS 18+). Definitions are translated directly on your device — no text is sent to any external server.

Supported languages: Vietnamese, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Simplified), Portuguese, Italian, Arabic.

If your device language is not in this list, definitions remain in English.

Multiplayer uses Apple's Multipeer Connectivity to connect two iPhones on the same local Wi-Fi or Bluetooth network. No internet connection is needed.

One player creates a game and picks a deck and settings. The other player joins, picks their deck, and both compete in real time. The player with the most correct answers wins.

Currently, multiplayer requires both players to be on the same Wi-Fi network or within Bluetooth range. Online/internet multiplayer is not available yet.

I Know It! ✓ — marks the word as learned and adds it to your progress. You earn XP for these words.

Don't Know — keeps the word in your review queue so it comes back in future sessions. The word is not marked as learned and no XP is earned yet.

All progress is stored locally on your device. To reset it, delete and reinstall the app. We're working on adding an in-app reset option in a future update.

WordPop requires iOS 16.0 or later. The auto-translation feature requires iOS 18.0 or later — on earlier versions, definitions will stay in English.
